HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LEVEL I AM?

HOW LONG ARE THE SURF LESSONS?
Each beginner lesson lasts approximately 1H 15M, including instruction and time in the water.
Each intermediate/advanced lesson lasts 2H!
WHAT IF I'VE NEVER SURFED BEFORE?
No problem! Our beginner lessons are designed for complete newcomers. We’ll teach you the basics, from paddling to catching your first wave. You don't have to be scared because we go to a safe surf spot. The water is not deep, it's a sand area, shallow water and the waves are not too strong. Besides that our teacher make sure you will go in the water with all the information you need so you will be really safe!
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE GROUP LESSONS?
For the beginner lesson we go for smaller waves. There are +/- 4 people with one teacher. When the waves are getting bigger/stronger we will do one teacher for 2 people. Depends on the wave conditions. Most important for us to keep you safe and give you enough of individual attention from our instructors.
Same for intermediate lessons. When the waves are calmer we go with bigger group, 4 people for 1 instructor. When we feel like the waves are more strong and bigger we make the group a bit smaller.
WHAT'S THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO SURF IN MIRISSA?
Mirissa has great waves year-round, but the best surf season runs from November to April.
If you're a beginner we will go surfing in Weligama beach. This spot is great for beginners all year round.
Intermediate/advanced lessons we do usually in Mirissa. We always look for the place with the best waves.
DO I NEED ANY PRIOR EXPERIENCE TO JOIN THE LESSONS?
Nope! Our lessons are open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers. If you’ve never surfed before, don’t worry, our instructors will guide you every step of the way.
